About Us
Divya Downs Development Trust was started by the parents of Divya who has Down’s Syndrome. Divya became a great source of inspiration for the setting up of an exclusive Institute for Individuals with Down’s Syndrome. Soon after her birth, parents were advised by Doctors that Divya should be placed in a Special Institution exclusively for children with Down’s syndrome for her maximum growth and development. Unfortunately such an Institution was not available in Bangalore and she had to attend a multi-category Special School,( a School for children with different types of Special Needs) wherein the development of her potential did not seem to be satisfactory. It was then that Divya’s parents decided to set up an Institution especially for individuals with Down’s syndrome that would provide Special education and Therapies for these children for their total development.
Children with Down’s syndrome more or less follow the same pattern of growth, development and behaviour, though there are a few exceptions. The Exclusive Down’s syndrome Institutions help in structuring the life of the individual with DS.
